High heating bills? Why heat your entire house all winter long? Instead, use a gas fireplace to zone-heat only the rooms in use. These easily controlled gas appliances never need fuel added to them, so they are the perfect addition to the kitchen, living or family room, a bedroom or even a bathroom! Most people like their bedrooms a bit cooler than the rest of the house. You can save money while staying warm during the cold winter months by zone heating the rooms you spend the majority of time in.
There are many additional features available for your gas fireplace. Multi-function remotes will control the fan speed, the flame height and heat output, the operation of the pilot light and the intensity of the accent lights, all while maintaining a precise temperature in the room. Our showrooms display fireplaces with many of these features and the best way to determine what features are right for your needs is to stop at Dubuque Fireplace & Patio and test out the fireplaces first-hand.
Zero-Clearance Gas Burning
Direct Vented Fireplaces
Zero-clearance direct vented gas fireplaces can be built into a frame wall. These models are designed with an insulated cabinet or shell around the firebox. This insulated cabinet provides the protection necessary to insure a safe installation. Direct vented “ZC” models come in many different sizes and venting configurations, depending on the application. Some are top vented, others rear vented. Direct vented gas fireplaces use a co-axial pipe that must be installed through the sidewall of the house or up through the roof. A co-axial vent pipe is a pipe inside another pipe. The exhaust gases are vented in the smaller inside pipe and combustion air is brought into the firebox via the outside pipe.
There are several built-in safety features in every gas fireplace. Standing or intermittent pilot lights,, thermocouples, oxygen depletion, heat and flame sensors all help maintain safe and reliable performance from the appliance. These fireplaces are highly efficient, very safe and can be installed almost anywhere! The new Inspiration Series from Ambiance Fireplaces has many great features.
